Rake Allocation Method to be released by Microgaming Poker Network

Microgaming, one of the leading online casino software companies in the industry today, has announced that its Poker Network is preparing to implement a ground breaking new rake allocation method that will be branded “True Value”.

True Value, that is set to work in two ways, firstly allocates player rake to operators which will be based upon volume, activity and win or loss ratio instead of the customary methods which work only with volume.

The new method will also give increased value to new players resulting in operators being encouraged to bring in, retain and reactivate recreational players. Of great importance is the fact that the True Value valuation is accomplished in such a way that the players themselves will remain unaware.

Microgaming will be implementing True Value by using a dual-layer system so as not to impact players. This method lays one rake allocation method immediately on top of another with both working in real time and sustained by data in operators’ business solutions. Players will be valued in the correct manner without alienating them with this method.

Head of Network Games at Microgaming, Lydia Melton, commented that True Value is their biggest release thus far this year and that they believe that it is one of the most important releases in online poker.

Lydia added that True Value is set apart from other networks’ solutions to the valuation problem due to the fact that it uses a dual layer system, which does not impact the players themselves. She also said that any players who earn rake-based promotions which include bonuses will clear those promotions at the same rate on True Value as on the present method.

True Value is due to go live on 1 July 2012 across all operators on the Microgaming Poker Network.
