Maryland Live blames MGM of hiring employees with high-roller lists

Online gambling industry, being a money rich industry, has ever been the hub of countless operators who claim to have more luring offers for players and these casino brands always keep enticing their existing players too to keep them with Maryland in this highly competitive market. Likewise, every big gambling brand also has many confidential secrets about its high networth players who are continuously placing higher amount bets with them. As far employees are concerned, similar rules of confidentially apply to them as well and whenever they leave a company they are not allowed to join the rival brands thanks to the No Hire/Non-Compete agreement that every casino brand asks its key position holders to sign before joining and when they breach the contract terms, it becomes necessary for the suffering side to seek court help. This is something that seems to be happening in case of Maryland Live Casino vs MGM National Harbor legal battle where Maryland Live has accused MGM of stealing the list of high-rollers through former employees. According to them MGM has hired three of its former employees and forcing them to reveal the confidential and classified list of high rollers to them which is a clear violation of the signed agreement.

On the other side, MGM National Harbor resort, which is just 40 miles from Maryland Live, has also strongly responded to the Maryland claim, they said via a statement, “Although it is our normal practice to not comment on pending litigation, this lawsuit amounts to nothing more than a thinly disguised attempt to stifle the competition Maryland Live expects from MGM’s National Harbor.

“Maryland Live is resorting to threatening its current and former employees with unenforceable non-compete provisions in hopes of preventing people from working in other states regardless of whether their new employment would compete with Maryland Live. The allegations in Maryland Live’s lawsuit against MGM National Harbor are baseless, and MGM will vigorously defend against Maryland Live’s lawsuit.”

For now Maryland Live has refused to comment on its suit or MGM’s reply, according to the company spokeswoman.
